2017 Infinite List. A collection of my favourite things from the year gone by. Including books, tv shows, movies, podcasts, meditations and more!

I love discovering what other people are loving/reading/watching/obsessed with, which is why last year I shared my first ever love list (inspired by Alexandra Franzen). It turns out that people loved finding out my favourite things, so I’ve decided to make it an annual thing.

Here is my 2017 Infinite List. It contains my favourite books, tv shows, movies, podcasts, meditations, business tools, plus some random things I loved this year and experiences I enjoyed.

I hope you find something new here that you love, enjoy, or makes your life easier or better! 🙂

2017 INFINITE LIST

READ:

Essentialism by Greg McKeown. I read this on holiday this year and it was the perfect reminder to simplify, do less and to focus on what’s important. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life, read this book.

Braving The Wilderness by Brené Brown. An incredible (and timely) book about courage and what it means to truly belong to ourselves — and to others. “True belonging doesn’t require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are.”

It’s All Good by Cassie Mendoza-Jones. I read this book exactly when I needed to be reminded to trust and surrender to what was going on in my life. I’m a big fan of Cassie’s work and I know that this will be a book that I return to again (and again) and one that will help me to navigate future failures and disappointments.

First, We Make The Beast Beautiful by Sarah Wilson. This is the best book about anxiety that I’ve ever read. A must read if you (or someone you’re close to) is living with anxiety.

White Hot Truth by Danielle LaPorte. If you’re wanting to get off the merry-go-round of self-improvement and of wanting to be “better” because it isn’t actually making you feel good and definitely isn’t making you better, this book is for you.

Some more non-fiction I enjoyed this year: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k by Mark Manson, #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin, Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick.

Some of my favourite fiction books I read this year were Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty, Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, Into the Water by Paula Hawkins, Lie To Me by J.T Ellison, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, the second and third books in this series, and the original screenplay Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Magazines I’ve loved this year: Frankie, Inspired COACH, The Introvert Effect, Soulful Living Collective, Toward Magazine, Event Head Magazine.

WATCH:

Tv shows from last year’s list that I continued watching (and loving) this year: Game of Thrones this season was EPIC.  Stranger Things 2 was amazing. I continued to love The 100 and the latest season of Brooklyn 99 has been seriously amazing.

This year my boyfriend and I started watching and LOVING Vikings and Homeland, which I reckon were our two most-watched shows this year as we had so many seasons to catch up on!

This year I started watching and became obsessed with: OutlanderRiverdale (so addictive!), Scandal and Younger.

I binge-watched #GIRLBOSSThirteen Reasons Why was hard to watch but really, really important, Big Little Lies was disturbing (and also hard to watch at times) but amazing. And I also enjoyed The Good Doctor.

For light-heartedness and laughs I enjoyed The Good PlaceSuperstoreMaster of None. Plus I finally started watching Parks & Recreation as well.

And I also enjoyed The Defenders and The Punisher for something that is outside my usual genre of tv shows.

My favourite movies this year were: The Big Sick which has become one of my all-time favourite movies. I absolutely adored the Beauty and the Beast remake. And I also enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Baby Driver, Spiderman: Homecoming and Logan.

LISTEN:

My favourite podcasts this year were: Dream For OthersThe Heart of itThe Mindful KindThe Priestess PodcastThe League of Extraordinary Introverts, Casting Wonder, Ladies who Lunch, Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations, The Secret Library Podcast, The Melissa Ambrosini Show, Happier with Gretchen Rubin. Plus my boyfriend and I binge-listened to S-Town on our road trip this year which we found fascinating.

When it comes to guided meditations this chakra cleanse meditation is still a favourite of mine and this year I’ve been loving Cassie’s guided meditations as well.

I am obsessed with Sonesence’s meditones and which contain the best meditation music (ever!). My favourite album this year was this one!

I became obsessed with listening to audiobooks on Audible this year. My boyfriend and I have been listening to the Harry Potter series all year. Plus I’ve loved listening to some of my favourite books from last year on audiobook: The Year of Yes, Big Magic and Rising Strong.

My obsession with Spotify has continued this year. Here are some of my favourite playlists. Plus I love listening to Discover Weekly each week to find new music.

USEFUL BUSINESS + BLOGGING TOOLS:

You can discover the tools I use, love and recommend here, but here’s a few that I started using this year or have particularly loved this year.

Zoom. This is like Skype, but I think it’s better. I switched all my client sessions over to Zoom earlier this year and have loved using the platform. Plus I’ve also loved using it for live calls and online classes.

Send Owl. After experimenting with many different e-commerce platforms I finally found one that I love and does what I need it to do for sign ups to The 28 Day Gratitude Project. I love how simple this is to use from both my end and the purchaser’s end (and that people have an option to pay through Paypal). Highly recommend.

Later. I’ve been using Later for awhile now, but this year with all the new features it has become one of my must-have tools for what I do. I love that it allows me to prepare Instagram posts in advance from my phone or even from my computer, so I can then post them later on in the day or get them ready for another day. Such a time and life saver!

Evernote continues to save my brain, time and practically my life.

And because I get asked all the time how I became a life coach, here’s the academy I trained with and wholeheartedly recommend.

RANDOM STUFF I LOVED THIS YEAR:

This is the planner I used and loved this year (and will be using again next year). This chai is still my absolute favourite and I drink it everyday. I got a Lululemon yoga mat this year and it has been AMAZING. Speaking of yoga, these are my favourite online classes. This is my favourite kombucha (the raspberry lemonade is my current favourite flavour). I’m obsessed with this skincare and have got most of my family using it too. This and this is what I use to help me prepare for a new year.

A MASH-UP OF EXPERIENCES I ENJOYED THIS YEAR:

Spending my boyfriend’s Birthday down the Great Ocean Road. Celebrating being a finalist in two awards at the Beautiful You Awards Night. Getting my drivers licence (and doing my first ever solo drive by myself!). Continuing to work 1:1 with my clients. Road tripping to Brisbane for the Beautiful You Inspiration Day with my boyfriend and driving home along the east coast of Australia (something we’ve wanted to do for about 8 years now!). Spending time in Byron Bay. Doing a live round of The 28 Day Gratitude Project and having the project nominated as a finalist in the Beautiful You Awards for program/event of the year. Spending a week at Magnetic Island on our annual family holiday. Celebrating my 25th birthday. Going to this eventthis workshop, this special evening and this event.

Now over to you! I’d love to hear about a few things you LOVED and were obsessed with this year. Share away your obsessions from this year in the comments if you feel called to 🙂

Love & Gratitude,
