Recommended reading to help you get the most out of your one infinite life:
∞ The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. This was my favourite book of 2016 and it has definitely had a huge impact on me this year. I love Shonda’s writing, humour and storytelling, plus I could totally relate to her story of realising she was feeling unfulfilled with her life. If you want to be woken up, inspired to get out of your comfort zone and be reminded of the power of saying yes — read this book.
∞ Rising Strong by Brené Brown. Rising Strong has become one of my all-time favourite books and has guided me in leaning into discomfort, made me think differently about ‘failure’ and process shared in the book really has been invaluable at helping me navigate perceived setbacks.
∞ Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Marie Forleo said this book should be required reading for all humans – and I wholeheartedly agree. This book has revolutionised the way I approach my work, and how I dealt with fear and creativity. (Plus I’ve also written more about what I learnt from this book here.)
There are only two courses that I currently proudly stand behind and wholeheartedly recommend, they are:
Beautiful You Life Coaching Course by Julie Parker. Training with the Beautiful You Coaching Academy actually changed my life. Doing this course has allowed me to support people, do the work and make the difference that I’ve always wanted to do. This course will teach you how to be a life coach and support people to create positive change in their lives, start your coaching business and you’ll also go on the biggest personal development journey of your life! You can find out more about my experience this course and also how I can support you with your own coaching journey here.
Bright-Eyed and Blog-Hearted by Rachel MacDonald. This is the online blogging course for those who want to create an awesome blog or take their current online presence to the next level. Doing this course helped me to launch my blog and put myself “out there” online and I could not imagine starting my site or navigating the online world without this course and the Bloghearted community. You can find out more about my experience with this course here.
My favourite meditations, music, podcasts and audiobooks:
∞ Sonescence meditones by Tahlee Rouillon. I’m not usually a fan of meditation music, but I absolutely love these divine meditones. My current favourite is the Floating : Grounding album!
∞ Guided chakra cleanse meditation by Belinda Davidson. I swear there’s something magic about this meditation. Every time I listen to this meditation it literally changes how I feel and changing how you feel changes everything!
∞ Quiet mind meditation by Katherine Mackenzie-Smith. Whenever I get caught up in overthinking and overanalysing I like to do this meditation to calm (and quiet) my mind.
∞ Spotify has really revolutionised the way I listen to music. I love curating playlists and I pretty much use this app every single day. You can find me and my playlists on Spotify over here.
∞ Audiobooks. I became obsessed with listening to audiobooks on Audible this year. My recommendations: The Year of Yes, Big Magic and Rising Strong. Oh and the Harry Potter series of course! 🙂
∞ Podcasts. My current favourite podcasts are: Dream For Others, The Heart of it, The Mindful Kind, The Priestess Podcast, The League of Extraordinary Introverts, Casting Wonder, Ladies who Lunch, Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations, The Secret Library Podcast, The Melissa Ambrosini Show, Happier with Gretchen Rubin.
My favourite tools that here’s a few that I started using this year or have particularly loved this year.
∞ Mailchimp is so awesome and I couldn’t run my business without it. I use this to send emails to The Infinite Community, to guide people through The 28 Day Gratitude Project, to collect email addresses for interest lists and so on.
∞ Zoom. This is like Skype, but I think it’s better. I switched all my client sessions over to Zoom and have loved using the platform. Plus I’ve also loved using it for live calls and online classes.
∞ Send Owl. After experimenting with many different e-commerce platforms I finally found one that I love and does what I need it to do for sign ups to The 28 Day Gratitude Project. I love how simple this is to use from both my end and the purchaser’s end (and that people have an option to pay through Paypal). Highly recommend.
∞ I’ve been using Later for awhile now, but because of the new features it has become one of my must-have tools for what I do. I love that it allows me to prepare Instagram posts in advance from my phone or even from my computer, so I can then post them later on in the day or get them ready for another day. Such a time and life saver!
∞ I use Calendly for scheduling client sessions and Typeform for questionnaires and feedback forms. Both are super simple to use.
∞ For graphics I use PicMonkey (this is awesome for resizing, cropping, adding text and collages) and I also use Canva for creating social media graphics, templates and resources in The Infinite Collection.
∞ I use Evernote pretty much everyday. It’s awesome for storing ideas, brainstorming, blog post writing.
∞ I’ve become a Google Drive devotee. I use this for writing and organising content, eBooks, guest posts, etc. (I use this instead of Microsoft Word now!). I also use a Google Account for a pro domain email address (which I put off doing for ages but I’m so glad I did!).
Tv shows I’m currently obsessed with: The Handmaid’s Tale, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Homeland.
Random stuff I love: This is the planner I used. This chai is still my absolute favourite and I drink it everyday. I got a Lululemon yoga mat this year and it has been AMAZING. Speaking of yoga, these are my favourite online classes. This is my favourite kombucha (the cherry plum is my current favourite flavour).
Each year I publish a new list of things I loved from that year, you can check out my most recent 2017 infinite list here 🙂
