Since graduating from university I've been reflecting on how I've gotten to where I am right now and the things I've learnt along the way, so in the spirit of celebrating this milestone here are 9 of the most profound things I learnt while at university (that all apply to life in general) http://oneinfinitelife.com/lessons-ive-learnt-at-university/

A couple of weeks ago I graduated from university.

And ever since then I’ve been deep in ‘reflective mode’ — thinking about and pondering the last few years of my life, how I’ve got to where I am now and what I’ve learnt along the way.

For the past 3 years of my life I’ve been studying psychology at university, and during this time I’ve learnt more about myself and about life than ever before.

So in the spirit of acknowledging this milestone (which is something I’m honestly not good at doing — but I’m getting better at ?) here are 9 of the most profound things I’ve taken away from my the last 3 years of my life.

And even though these lessons come from when I was studying at university — they are all about life in general.

When we feel empowered by our goals we are way more likely to actually take action towards making it happen. Here are 9 ways you can approach setting yourself goals that are more powerful and will empower you to take action (because that’s where the magic happens!) plus there’s also some FREE and super useful resources to help you do this http://oneinfinitelife.com/how-to-set-goals/

I’m a huge advocate for setting goals to help you create and live the life you want. I truly believe in the power of goal-setting and I have experienced first-hand how powerful it can be.

For example, I had wanted to start a blog for a long time before it became an actual reality. I even enrolled in a course to help me get motivated to do it. But it still wasn’t happening. Even though I was working through the coursework each and every week (and really enjoying it!) I wasn’t actually taking action towards making it happen.

One day I realised that if I didn’t start taking action towards launching this blog — I would probably never do it. So I decided to get really serious about making this happen. I started by getting clear on what I wanted and setting a tangible goal about it. And doing this made me way more motivated and inspired to actually work towards making it happen. Several months later I finally did launch that blog, and here we are now 😉

It’s important for me to let you know that I don’t believe that there really is a “perfect” or “best” way to word your goals — and I think that just having a set goal itself is powerful, however…

I’ve found that for myself (and also with my clients) that when I have a goal but I don’t feel inspired by it, I’m so much more less likely to feel motivated to taking action towards making it happen — even if it’s something I really, really, truly want. Because the truth is…

There is only one way to achieve your goals and that’s by taking action — over and over again  twit-bird

This is why I truly believe that we need to feel inspired by the goals we set ourselves. Because it is when we feel this way that we are empowered to move towards achieving it. So in this post I’ll be sharing with you 9 ways you can set goals that will empower you to take action — and I’ve also got some super useful resources to help you do this.

There were stories and insights into what being an introvert has been like for me, resources that have helped me to understand and honour my introverted nature, tips that have helped me to embrace this part of myself and interviews with other introverts. Are you an introvert? Want to be empowered by this unique energy? In this post 17 introverts share their insights on how they approach embracing their introverted nature http://oneinfinitelife.com/introverts-share-their-insights/

To finish up Introvert Week I asked 17 introverts to share their insights on this question:

How do you embrace your true nature as an introvert?

And this is what they had to say…

By asking myself what I really need in the moment, and honouring that. I think a lot of more introverted people have been shamed in their lives for being 'too quiet' or 'anti-social' or even rude for doing what feels right to us. I mean, I got let go from a job for being too quiet. That sets up some pretty strong beliefs that you need to go against what feels natural to you in order to please others or meet certain social standards. These days, I'm more open with people about what I need but, mostly, I pay attention to my needs, my energy, and my feelings and make decisions from a place of understanding and acceptance instead of people pleasing and fear — Katherine Mackenzie Smith

I truly believe that you can be an introvert and be anything you want. And being an introvert doesn't have to hold you back in any aspect of your life — if you don't want it to. Here are 5 of the things that have gotten me to a place where I really embrace my introverted nature and feel empowered by it http://oneinfinitelife.com/embrace-being-an-introvert/

Last year someone asked me: How can you be a life coach if your an introvert?”

They were truly shocked to discover that after speaking to me for half an hour that I was an introvert — and they were even more shocked that I was an introvert AND a life coach.

She went on to explain that in order to be successful as a coach — and in life — I would need to stop being introverted, and learn how to be more confident and outgoing otherwise I’d never be successful.

Honestly, I felt a bit put on the spot, so I responded with the first thing that came to my mind:

You can be an introvert and be anything you want.

And even though it was a spur-of-the-moment statement, it’s something that I truly and deeply believe.

You may remember from my dot-point history of being an introvert that when I first had the realisation I was an introvert I used it as an excuse and hid behind this new label for awhile.

But it was in that moment — in that conversation — when I truly realised that I truly had reached a place where I was empowered by my introverted nature.

I believe that being an introvert doesn’t have to hold you back in any aspect of your life — if you don’t want it to.

Even though I’m always still learning how to embrace my introverted nature, I know that I have come such a long way from when I first discovered I was an introvert to dropping truthbombs about not letting being an introvert hold you back.

So today, I’m sharing 5 of the things that have got me to that place today — one where I really embrace my introverted nature and feel empowered by it.

Katherine Mackenzie-Smith is an incredible example of an introvert who has found their own way to shine. In this interview she is sharing the experiences that have led her to where she is today, what fully embracing her introverted nature has looked like, her best advice for introverts who want to start embracing their true nature and how to not let it hold you back from what you really want, and so much more! http://oneinfinitelife.com/interview-with-katherine-mackenzie-smith

When I think of Katherine Mackenzie-Smith I immediately think of: coffee, Netflix and introverts — which isn’t surprising because Katherine is an incredible example of someone who has truly found their own way to shine as an introvert.

She is someone who — in a quiet and gentle way — is making a huge difference in the lives of introverts and the way they show up in the world.

As a “self-confessed quiet achiever” some of her quiet (albeit amazing) achievements include (but are most definitely not limited to) being an assistant trainer with the Beautiful You Coaching Academy, the host of The League of Extraordinary Introverts podcast, and releasing Shhh… the ultimate guide for introverts. She has also been an online magazine covergirl, called a “self help guru” by Elle Magazine, and been featured in places like CLEO magazine and Collective Hub.

Katherine is an incredible example of what is possible for introverts when they decide to embrace their true nature and find their own way to shine.

And I know for me, having Katherine as my coach last year was an incredible experience — one that really helped me to embrace and honour my unique energy, to not let it hold me back and to find my own way of putting myself out there that felt good to me.

In this interview, Katherine is sharing the experiences that have led her to where she is today, what fully embracing her introverted nature has looked like (and what not honouring this has looked like), her best advice for introverts who want to start embracing their true nature and how to not let it hold you back from what you really want, and so much more. Enjoy!
