Here are the top 10 most-read (and loved) posts on my blog for 2015 http://oneinfinitelife.com/most-read-posts-2015/

As 2015 comes to an end I’ve been reflecting on the year gone by, including this space — my little corner of the Internet.

When I publish a blog post I never really know what is going to be a hit, and honestly I try not to even think about the outcome at all when I publish here (detatchment has been a profound lesson for me this year). But it has been super interesting to discover what posts had the biggest impact on you this year.

And on that note, here are the 10 most-read posts on my site for this year…

A couple of years ago now, I found myself at a Vipassana meditation retreat, sitting in the meditation hall wondering how and why I decided to subject myself to 100 hours of meditation in 10 days.

At the beginning of this year I declared that DEVOTION was going to be my guiding word for this year. Since then I've learnt so much more about devotion, what it really means to me and what it really involves. So here are some of my thoughts and musings on devotion... http://oneinfinitelife.com/musings-on-devotion/

At the beginning of this year I declared that DEVOTION was going to be my guiding word for 2015.

And over the past year I feel like I’ve learnt so much more about devotion truly means.

According to Dictionary.com devotion is…

  • noun
  • 1. profound dedication; consecration.
  • 2. earnest attachment to a cause, person, etc.
  • 3. an assignment or appropriation to any purpose, cause, etc.
  • 4. Often, devotions. Ecclesiastical. religious observance or worship; a form of prayer or worship for special use.

For me, profound dedication simply sums up why I wanted this to be my guiding word for the year.

But over the past year I’ve learnt so much about devotion, found out what it really means to me and what it really involves. And on that note, here are some of my thoughts and musings on devotion.

Some of these things are stuff I already own (and love) or some are just totally on my wishlist (wink wink family! Kidding…)

Before we dive straight into the gift ideas, I just want to say that I think it’s totally okay to choose not to buy gifts for people and just to spend time with the people that are important to you. Presence really is the greatest present of all.

However, if you do choose to buy some thoughtful gifts this Christmas and want some inspiration, here are 46 ideas for feel-good, empowering and unique gifts.

Want more EASE in your life? Here are 10 ways to do that, with heaps of examples and practical tips from my own life + insights from others http://oneinfinitelife.com/how-to-bring-more-ease-into-your-life

Ease has been one of more core desire feelings for a couple of years now.

But only in the past year or so I’ve started to actually explore how to consciously and intentionally cultivate ease in my life.

I want ease in my life because I don’t particularly enjoying feeling anxious, stressed or overwhelmed and I’d much rather feel…

Calm. Aligned. Effortless. Free. In flow. Fluid. Mindful. Freedom.

And for me, ease really encompasses all these things.

In this post, I’ll be sharing how to bring more ease into your life, including 10 specific ways, with heaps of examples and practical tips from my own life, plus some insights from some awesome humans on how they attempt to have more easy in their lives.

1. Accepting that balance is a myth.

I don’t think complete life balance actually exists. And even though I knew that perfect life balance was unrealistic, for a long time I persistently (and unsuccessfully) continued seeking it.

It’s been really useful for me to accept that perfect balance is unattainable, and instead just focus on being gentle with myself and just doing the best I can with what’s going on.

I love the way Danielle Laporte articulates in this video how there’s no such thing as life balance.

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert is pure MAGIC, and a must-read for anyone who wants to live a more creative life, or do awesome things in their life, or just to show up in the world as their best self. Here are 6 magic lessons that have had the biggest impact on me big-magic-by-elizabeth-gilbert/

It doesn’t matter if you don’t think you’re creative…

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert is pure MAGIC, and a must-read for anyone who wants to live a more creative life, do awesome things in their life, or show up in the world as their best self.

Big Magic is like an epic pep talk, with incredibly powerful lessons and truth-bombs that will revolutionise the way you approach your creativity and fear. It’s incredibly powerful, but delivered in a really unique way, where I feel like Liz is my new best pal and she is just chatting to me as we drink tea at my kitchen bench.

It’s definitely one of those books I know I’m going to come back to again and again.

I’ve already gotten so much out of reading this book, so today I’m sharing some of my most favourite lessons from Big Magic, the ones that have made the biggest impact on me so far.

There's so much more to Bali than only the resorts, chaos, and let's be honest — Bingtang singlets. If you choose get to know this special place a little more, I have no doubts about it — you will be enchanted. http://oneinfinitelife.com/bali-travel-tips/

There’s so much more to Bali than only the resorts, chaos, and let’s be honest — Bingtang singlets. If you choose get to know this special place a little more, I have no doubts about it — you will be enchanted.

Known as the Island of Gods, Bali truly is one special place. And I’ve been to Bali twice now, first to celebrate my 21st birthday with my boyfriend, and on my most recent venture in October of this year with my boyfriend and family.

This island — albeit small — has so much to offer, and it’s why you’ll find a variety of people raving about this place for many different reasons… Bali really can be so many different things to different people.

For me, the first time I visited Bali I was quite surprised by the devotion and reverence of the Balinese people. With their rituals, offerings and ceremonies being ever present in their lives, even in touristy places.

I was also unexpectedly captivated by Bali, and it’s hard to describe why I felt the island was such a special place, but to me it just feels sacred.

In this post, I’m sharing what Bali is for me. Including some photos of my trip, my favourite area to stay, my best recommendations on what to do and see, where to eat, and some useful Bali travel tips based on the observations I’ve made during my two trips to this special place.

Let’s dive straight in…

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

I had only just began Big Magic when I knew that it was going to be one of my all-time favourite books, and I was right.

The moment I finished this book for the first time, I immediately went back to the start and began reading it again, it’s that good. Since then I’ve read it three times, and I know it’s something I’m going to continue to come back to again and again.

A Big Magic Inspired Confession http://oneinfinitelife.com/a-big-magic-inspired-confession/

I have a confession to make… I am creative.

And since I’ve put that out there, I might as well confess this as well… I used to think I wasn’t creative — at all.

I believed that because I “couldn’t” draw or paint awesomely, I wasn’t creative.

I love writing, and even though it’s something I do a lot, I still didn’t think I was creative.

Even when I was dancing heaps (like more than 10 hours a week), I still didn’t believe I was creative.

I’ve said and thought “I’m not creative” so many times, that I truly believed it.

And I know that this is something I’m definetely not alone in, as I hear other people use the I’m not creative disclaimer all the time as well.

So what made me change my mind?
