I cannot believe we’re already in the last week of January already. So, in the spirit of reflection and gratitude, here is the first segment of The Gratitude Diaries for 2016, done in a Taking Stock style (prompts by Meet Me At Mikes).

 This month I’m grateful for…

Cooking: a Cardamom and sea salt ganache tart for my Mum’s birthday (from this cookbook).

Drinking: A lot of cold-pressed juice as I kicked off the year with a semi juice cleanse with Greenhouse Juicery.

Reading: Die Empty by Todd Henry and The Lunar  Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.

Playing: On Snapchat and have unexpectedly been really enjoying sharing candid snippets of my days (if you want to play on Snapchat with me you can find me here: @chloe_wigan)

Deciding: On new Core Desired Feelings for 2016

Enjoying: Having my sister come and stay with us for over a month.

Liking: Trying weird lattes like Matcha, golden (turmeric) and beetroot ginger.

Wondering: When I should run The 28 Day Gratitude Project again. I’m currently taking part in the second round and we only have just over a week until we finish.

Loving: The amount of time I’ve spent at the beach this month. There’s been beach days, spontaneous ocean swims, exploring new beaches, beach walks, afternoon beach hangs, beach picnics, birthday dinners at the beach (with an epic prawn and crayfish salad), watching sunsets at the beach, fish and chips at the beach.

Buying: Heaps of fresh produce from the local markets.

Watching: Jessica Jones. And re-watching The 100. I’m obsessed with Netflix!

Marvelling: At how awesome it was to see Back to the Future at the outdoor cinemas (and eating haloumi burgers and raw caramel slice) plus seeing a shooting star!

Smelling: These Australian Bush essential oils being diffused.

Wearing: My new rose gold heart chakra necklace.

Following: This inspiring Instagram account.

Knowing: That it’s powerful to start where you are right now, with what you’ve got. I did my first ever online workshop this month and even though it was far from the vision I have for future workshops, I’m grateful I took action and did it anyway — no matter how imperfect it was.

Thinking: about how much this month has made me step up and RISE. There’s been doing the work (even when I didn’t feel like it), saying YES to new opportunities that are completely outside my comfort zone, putting myself out there in new ways, and doing things I’ve never done before.

Getting: excited about upcoming opportunities.

Bookmarking: Incredible blog posts like this one: It All Matters by Alexandra Franzen.

Coveting: Cocowhip and an acai bowl. I tried both of these for the first time this month and they are amazing!

Giggling: at this clip from Girls with my sister.

Feeling: really grateful as I reflect on the month gone by and acknowledge what I’ve been appreciating.

Snacking: Loving Earth raw chocolate — my favourite.

Helping: people set powerful goals in my first ever online workshop.

Hearing: this song (over and over again) I’m obsessed!
