The days where everything just seems to go wrong.

The ones where you just want to crawl back to bed and start the day again.

We all have them.

But the truth is we also have the the power to to turn the day around.

Or at least make it suck less.

Here are some of my best ideas to help you create the good in your day, to help turn your day around completely, to make your day suck less, or just to help make your day more awesome!

Also many of these ideas include doing something kind for someone else and making their day better. This is because making other people happy makes me happier and also I really believe that we should put out into the universe what we wish to receive ourselves.

∞  Eat your all-time favourite chocolate. I adore Loving Earth.

∞  Buy someone else some chocolate. I love giving people Luvjus.

∞  Get your gratitude on. Write down everything you are grateful for and why.

∞  Start a gratitude jar and fill it with a few things you are grateful for.

∞  Create an uplifting playlist full of music that makes you feel good. Play it loud! (Check out my High Vibing playlist if you like.)

∞  Make a day bed in your lounge room.

∞  Sing in the car really loudly (and badly!)

∞  Watch one of your favourite movies. My all-time fave is Clueless. Popcorn = optional, but awesome!

∞  Have a dance party in your lounge room. Even if it’s a solo one.

∞  Brew a pot of your favourite herbal tea.

∞  Buy a new flavour of herbal tea you’ve never tried before.

∞  Take a shower. I truly believe that water is super therapeutic!

∞  Or have a bath. With awesome bath bombs. My favourites are from Lush.

∞  Exercise. It will make you happier – like Legally Blonde taught us “exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands.”

∞  Handwrite a letter to your future self.

∞  Send an email to your future self using Future Me.

∞  Reread one of your all-time favourite books.

∞  Go for a walk. Preferably in nature.

∞  Eat the most delicious gourmet ice-cream in your all-time favourite flavour. Or in a flavour you’ve never tried before.

∞  Go to your favourite park and read or listen to music (also is good for eating ice-cream!)

∞  Watch an episode of your favourite TV show. Or 10.

∞  Paint your nails in an awesome colour.

∞  Go swimming!

∞  Diffuse some essential oils. At the moment I am loving peppermint and lemon myrtle as a pick me up.

∞  Go to your local video store and pick some movies from the children’s section (hello Toy Story!) or choose some movies that you have never seen before.

∞  Ask someone what the best part of their day has been (we used to do this at dinner time when I was growing up – it’s fun and uplifting).

∞  Hand write a thank you note and send it someone in the mail.

∞  Send someone an awesome card. For a special occasion, or just because. At the moment I love sending these awesome postcards to people.

∞  Write and send someone a letter.

∞  Do some yoga.

∞  Offer to go to someone’s house (or them come to you) and cook them dinner. Bonus points for dessert!

∞  Change your location. Go outside. Go to a cafe. Just go somewhere else for awhile.

∞  Buy some flowers for yourself.

∞  Buy some flowers for someone else.

∞  Do something kind for someone you know has been struggling lately. Whether it be looking after their kids for a few hours, or delivering them some soup.

∞  Create music playlists for other people and share it with them via Spotify or burn it to a CD and mail it to them.

∞  Get dressed and show up anyway.

∞  Clean, declutter or reorganise a space in your home.

∞  After decluttering give your unwanted items to charity.

∞  Call someone for a chat. Just because.

∞  Watch Harry Potter movies for the rest of the day.

∞  Genuinely ask someone questions about something their passionate about. Even if it is of no interest to you. Really listen to them while they light up talking about something they love.

∞  Do someone a favour just because – not expecting anything in return.

∞  Research and plan for an exciting holiday or adventure.

∞  Go to your local library and borrow some books that you loved as a child, or a books you’ve been meaning to read for ages, or books that you’ve never read before.

∞  Listen to a super inspiring podcast. I’m currently loving The Brave Exchange.

∞  Try something new. Get a new hairstyle. Take different route when going somewhere.

∞  Give someone you absolute undivided attention (and put your phone away).

∞  Reorganise the furniture in one of the rooms of your house.

∞  Leave a positive and awesome review on something you genuinely love telling them how much you love it and why. Like your favourite book, music album, podcast etc.

∞  Go to the movies with someone. Or just go by yourself.

∞  Make a vision board. You can get crafty and make a real one or do a digital one over on Pinterest. Here’s mine.

∞  Take a nap.

∞  Write a geniune letter (or an email) to someone who you are super inspired by, just to say thank you.

∞  Make a list of things to do in your local area that you would like to do but haven’t done before. Keep it on the fridge and actually do them.

∞  Go to your favourite cafe or restaurant.

∞  Get arty. Draw or paint something – don’t worry about about it being good, just have fun!

∞  Actually start reading a book someone had recommended to you and let them know your thoughts as you’re reading it.

∞  Go to a cafe or restaurant you’ve never been before.

∞  Create a Pinterest boards for inspirational words, awesome recipes, delicious sweet treats, DIYs, your favourite books, your dream home, places you want to travel to, or pretty much anything you want.

∞  Go to the beach.

∞  If you want to (and are able to) take the rest of the day off and do whatever it is you want to do.

∞  If you need to show up or want to. Read or listen to Danielle’s grand pep talk and decide to rise instead.

∞  Be kinder (than necessary) to everyone you come into contact with for the rest of the day – you never know who is also having a not-so-hot day.

∞  Bake something delicious.

∞  Bake something delicious and deliver it to someone else.

∞  Watch a hilarious, laugh-out-loud, fun movie.

∞  Do something you have never ever done before.

∞  Drink kombucha. From a fancy glass.

∞  Give your services to someone pro-bono.

∞  Go to the drive-in to see a movie (I love doing this!)

∞  Do a face mask. I love the Lush face masks – they are my favourite! (Side note: I am obsessed with Lush products!)

∞  Eat breakfast for dinner. Because you can and because it’s delicious.

∞  Buy a copy of your favourite magazine or one you’ve never read before and read it cover-to-cover.

∞  Leave a thoughtful comment on a blog you love.

∞  Sit with your legs up the wall for 5, 10, 15 minutes and it will reduce anxiety and just help you rejuvenate and relax.

∞  Do a guided meditation.

∞  Do a guided meditation while walking.

∞  Do a chakra cleanse meditation. My go-to (and all-time favourite) is this one.

∞  Hold space for someone you love. Just be present. And let them talk as much as they want about whatever they want.

∞  Write kind things about the people you live with on sticky notes and stick them around the house for them to find.

∞  Cooking something special for dinner for someone you love – or just for yourself.

∞  Get your pyjamas on (or any super comfy clothes) and watch or read something you enjoy in bed.

∞  Donate money to a charity.

∞  Organise a fun activity or adventure for the upcoming weekend with a bunch of awesome humans.

∞  Buy a gift for someone you love. For no particular occasion other than they are awesome and deserve a gift.

∞  Write notes with a positive affirmations on them and put it in a public place for someone else to discover.

∞  Give a stranger a compliment.

∞  Print some photos and make a collage, stick them around your house, frame them, or send them to people.

∞  Tell someone how awesome/fantastic/incredible you think they are and why.

∞  Tell someone that you are grateful for them and why.

∞  Give someone a really genuine (and incredible) compliment and make their day.

∞  Buy some herbs and start a herb garden.

∞  Buy a plant to keep indoors. I love herbs, succulents and air plants at the moment.

∞  Make homemade takeaway for dinner. More delicious than real takeaway, and it’s better for you – bonus!

∞  If you can’t change a situation, change your perspective instead.

∞  And finally, remember that today is not over yet.
